Cheep, Cheep Easter Celebration & Bunny Train

This free, family-fun event features the Easter Bunny and a 4-H menagerie of bunnies in costume, baby chicks and guinea pigs for petting and enjoying. Visiting The Elegant Farmer each year at Easter, the 4-H members educate and introduce children of all ages to the animals they have raised and cared for as part of their 4-H project. Ride the East Troy Electric Railroad’s Bunny Train (for tickets http://www.easttroyrr.org) and make a grand entrance to meet the Easter Bunny at the Elegant Farmer. Easter specialty foods including CiderBaked ham, fresh breads, Easter basket candies and more.

The Elegant Farmer hosts its 6th annual Wisconsin Cheesemakers & Wine Tasting Train Saturday, June 18, 1:00-3:00 p.m. Come ride the rails on the Cheesemakers Train in air-conditioned comfort on board the beautifully restored East Troy Electric Railroad’s Dinner Car featuring an Art Deco vintage interior and elegant white tablecloth tables. The two-hour round trip departs and returns to The Elegant Farmer Depot, 1545 Main Street at Hwys ES & J, Mukwonago traveling through the picturesque woods and charming towns of Mukwonago and East Troy.
This year’s cheesemakers includes Cheesemaker Jim Schwartz from Specialty Cheese Company. The company makes more than 35 varieties of ethnic cheeses including those from the traditions of Hispanic, Indian, Greek, Middle Eastern and East Europe heritage; John Slawinski from Milwaukee’s only urban cheese factory, Clock Shadow Creamery showcasing their tasty Chevre, Fresh Cheese Curds, Cheddars and Quark cheeses. Adding to this flavorful tasting event will be Master Cheesemaker Adam Buholzer from Klondike Cheese Company bringing their delicious array of flavored Feta, Feta Cheese Dip, Brick, Muenster, and Havarti cheeses.

Old Fashioned Farm Fair & Ice Cream Social

Kids of all ages are invited to the fair to participate in the ever-popular Old Fashioned Farm Fair & Ice Cream Social. Dare to win the pie eating contest or enjoy a hayride or pony ride. For those wanting a bit more fun, head over to view our antique tractor display or climb aboard for a train ride on the East Troy Electric Railroad from the Elegant Farmer depot. When the hunger strikes, we offer simply the best farm-fresh roasted corn, grilled brats & hot dogs, caramel corn, old fashioned candies and much, much more. New this year, we will be hosting an Ice Cream Social on Saturday, July 16 from noon-2 p.m. featuring tasting and sale of artisan, handcrafted ice cream from Wisconsin’s own specialty ice cream makers.

Everyone is welcome to the orchard to pick from our 12 varieties of apples right from the tree or selecting the prefect pumpkins from the patch. Enjoy beautiful fall colors aboard a tractor-pulled hayride, pony ride or train ride. The East Troy Electric Railroad’s turn-of-the-century train departs from and returns to The Elegant Farmer Depot. Come try our 5-acres, family-friendly farm scene corn maze. While visiting, indulge with our delicious specialty foods including cider, make-your-own caramel apple, warm cider donuts, pulled pork and chili and more. Hope to see you in the orchard.

Long a supporter of area families in need, The Elegant Farmer created the Give a Smile, Get a Smile campaign. (Truth be told, it was the Smilin’ Barn’s idea!). When you visit the Elegant Farmer during November and December and give a $5 or more donation to help our area food pantries give a smile to families in need. With our thanks, get a smile back in the form of a beautiful Smilin’ Barn ornament. 100% of all donations to the Give a Smile, Get a Smile campaign go to eight local food pantries. Thanks!
Christmas Express Santa Train

This magical ride will take you a half hour from our East Troy Depot (2002 Church Street, East Troy, WI) to Santa’s workshop located at the Elegant Farmer. Here children can visit Santa and get a photo taken with the jolly elf himself! Complete with a craft project and some hot chocolate and cookies to enjoy after working on those crafts! The trolleys will be heated and bathrooms are available in our East Troy Depot. Boarding is only done at our East Troy Depot at 9:30, Noon and 2:30 p.m. Advance reservations are required. Tickets can be purchased online at www.easttroyrr.org. Bring a non-perishable food item with each member of your party and receive a 25% discount on tickets at our Depot. All donated items benefit the East Troy Food Pantry. Ho, Ho, Ho have a Merry Christmas everyone!
